Liz has several decades of experience in commercial architecture and construction in the southeast, with the last eight years spent in K12 education projects at DeKalb. She focuses on quality procedures and controls for the design projects in the Capital Improvements Program. She is responsible for developing and maintaining design standards for all new construction and renovations, using her in-depth knowledge of the county’s large physical plant to inform decisions. With its current enrollment of over 100,000 students, DeKalb owns and maintains over 150 separate facilities. DeKalb’s next Capital Improvement program has a budget of $561 million. Over the next five years, the construction of one new high school and three new elementary schools is planned, along with several large additions and multiple renovations. Liz holds an undergraduate degree with an architecture major from Yale, as well as a Master’s in Architecture from Georgia Tech. She is a LEED AP, a Certified Manager of Quality / Organizational Excellence, and a PMP. She is a proud parent of two DeKalb graduates, and volunteers as a Math tutor in her neighborhood school.
