The Boulder Valley School District has embarked on a unique journey that has focused High Performing, Innovative and Sustainable Building Design as a way to bridge the Bond program work, Building for Student Success with the District’s Strategic plan, The Success Effect. This session will showcase how building environments are impacting teaching and learning and how you can improve building performance through real-time data, occupant engagement and shared-savings.
Shelby County Schools has incorporated an engaging STEM program into its energy efficiency initiative, Project Green Schools. K-12 student green teams have been trained throughout the district to effectively reduce the energy consumption at school by conducting an energy audit and educating their peers and staff on energy-saving strategies. They are saving an average of 10-15% off of the schools’ utilities by identifying all areas of energy waste throughout their schools. Project Green Schools has formed partnerships with over thirty community organizations. Learn how to conduct an audit and enhance programs through partnerships.
